Cheyenne, WY – A High Wind Warning remains in effect across southeast Wyoming, with strong gusts up to 80 mph expected through 11 p.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service warns that high-profile vehicles, including campers and tractor-trailers, may face dangerous crosswinds along major highways.

According to the National Weather Service, the most significant wind gusts are anticipated in the Bordeaux area along Interstate 25, the North Snowy Range Foothills along I-80, and the South Laramie Range Foothills. Wind speeds of 30 to 40 mph, with peak gusts between 65 and 80 mph, will persist through Tuesday night.

Blowing snow may reduce visibility, leading to potential whiteout conditions and slick roads, particularly in higher elevations. Areas such as Cheyenne, Laramie, and Wheatland will see sustained hazardous conditions affecting local travel and road safety.

Drivers of light or high-profile vehicles should exercise caution, particularly along I-25 and I-80, where wind speeds will be strongest. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and prepare for potential power outages due to wind damage.

The High Wind Warning is expected to expire at 11 p.m. MST Tuesday unless conditions persist.
