Cheyenne, WY – Light snow will persist through Saturday afternoon, making roadways, including I-80, slick and potentially dangerous. Drivers are urged to proceed cautiously as visibility remains limited in some areas, especially near Elk Mountain and Warren Interchange.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, snowfall totals are expected to remain light, with less than an inch of new accumulation by tonight. Winds from the north at 10 mph will result in wind chills ranging from -5 to 0 degrees, further complicating outdoor travel.

Tonight, a 30% chance of lingering snow remains, with temperatures dipping to 4 degrees. Roads may stay icy into the overnight hours.

Sunday offers relief as the weather clears, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 26 degrees. Winds will shift west to northwest in the afternoon, creating a milder end to the weekend. Monday through Wednesday continues the warming trend, with highs reaching the low 40s and plenty of sunshine.

Although the weather will stabilize starting Sunday, residents should stay prepared for icy roads, especially in shaded areas or during early morning hours. Outdoor enthusiasts should dress warmly and limit exposure during today’s coldest periods.
