Cheyenne, WY – Residents in southeastern Wyoming should prepare for a shift in weather as conditions turn colder and wetter, with showers and possible snow returning by Thursday night.

According to the National Weather Service Cheyenne, a more active weather pattern will develop beginning Sunday, April 13, with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers mainly south of Interstate 80. High temperatures will range from 50 to 60 degrees east of I-25, and 40 to 50 degrees west of I-25.

Cooler, clearer conditions settle in Monday, but by Tuesday, clouds return along with a slight chance of mountain snow showers. The most active day will be Wednesday, when widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely across the region, with highs reaching into the low 70s east of I-25.

By Thursday, rain and snow are expected to develop overnight into Friday morning, bringing a potential for light snow accumulations, particularly in higher elevations or colder areas. Temperatures will dip into the 20s and 30s at night, increasing the possibility of slick travel conditions.

Drivers are advised to monitor weather alerts and prepare for changing road conditions later in the week, especially during early morning and evening commutes.
