CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Residents in northeastern Wyoming should prepare for a round of strong storms Saturday, with the highest risk window between 4 and 8 p.m. Damaging winds and small to marginally severe hail are possible as scattered storms move across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, a marginal risk zone covers counties along the South Dakota border, where a few storms could intensify into severe levels. Breezy winds are expected across much of the state, but the northeast corner faces the greatest threat of stronger gusts and hail.

Cities including Newcastle, Sundance, and Moorcroft may see the brunt of the activity during the late afternoon and early evening. Drivers along I-90 should be alert for sudden wind gusts and reduced visibility in heavy downpours.

Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, keep phones charged, and have multiple ways to receive warnings in case storms strengthen quickly. The threat should taper off after 8 p.m., but additional showers may linger into the night.
