Cheyenne, WY – The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, across much of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle, including areas along the Interstate 25 corridor.

According to the NWS Cheyenne office, the strongest storms are expected between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., bringing the potential for hail up to one inch in diameter, wind gusts over 60 mph, and locally heavy rainfall.

Cities most at risk include Wheatland, Torrington, Douglas, and Lusk, Wyoming, as well as Scottsbluff, Chadron, Sidney, and Alliance, Nebraska. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue intermittently overnight, though the primary severe threat will diminish after sunset.

Residents are urged to monitor weather alerts, secure loose outdoor items, and seek shelter indoors during any thunderstorm activity. Drivers along I-25 and I-80 should use caution as brief downpours and gusty winds could reduce visibility.

The National Weather Service will continue to monitor developing conditions throughout the evening.
