Cheyenne, WY – Warm weather is sticking around early this week, but big changes are coming for southeast Wyoming as thunderstorms, breezy conditions, and a strong cold front move through.
According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, scattered thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon, mainly over southeast Wyoming. Afternoon highs will reach 73–83 degrees east of Interstate 25, with cooler temperatures west of the corridor in the mid-60s to 70s.
On Tuesday, partly cloudy skies and continued warmth will bring highs in the 70s and 80s east of I-25, while areas west will stay closer to 70. Breezy conditions are likely during the day.
Forecasters warn that a cold front will arrive Friday into Saturday, ushering in more seasonable, “fall-like” weather. Overnight lows could drop near or below freezing across lower elevations, with mountain snow showers possible. Gusty winds of 40+ mph may also return by the weekend, particularly in southeast Wyoming.
Through Thursday, temperatures will remain warmer than normal, with highs in the upper 70s and 80s. Residents are urged to prepare for a sudden drop in temperatures and potential travel impacts in higher terrain this weekend.
