Cheyenne, WY – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne has issued multiple High Wind Warnings across southern and central Wyoming through Monday morning, with gusts up to 65 mph expected to create hazardous travel conditions.

Warnings cover the South Laramie Range and Foothills, Central and North Snowy Range Foothills, Central Carbon County, and areas along Interstate 80 and Interstate 25, including Rawlins, Arlington, Elk Mountain, and Bordeaux.

According to the NWS, west winds between 25 and 40 mph will continue through the night, intensifying again early Monday. Forecasters warn of strong crosswinds posing significant risks for lightweight and high-profile vehicles, including campers, tractor-trailers, and delivery trucks.

Travelers along I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie, and I-25 between Chugwater and Wheatland, should use extreme caution and check for updates on road closures or restrictions. The NWS said the strongest gusts will occur in exposed foothill areas and mountain passes.

Winds are expected to gradually decrease late Monday morning. Officials recommend securing loose outdoor objects and remaining alert to changing road conditions overnight.
