Cheyenne, Wyoming – Wyoming ranks among the higher states for UFO sightings per capita, with one report for every 1,292 residents, reflecting consistent reports of unexplained aerial activity across wide rural areas.

According to Casino.ca’s annual UFO sightings analysis, Wyoming places within the upper tier nationwide based on data collected since 1974. The rankings compare total sightings against population, highlighting where reports are most concentrated.

Despite its small population, Wyoming has recorded hundreds of sightings across cities like Cheyenne and Casper, as well as remote مناطق with minimal light interference. Researchers say the state’s expansive open skies and low population density contribute to strong visibility conditions.

Wyoming is tied to several notable incidents. In 1975, multiple witnesses near Laramie reported a bright object moving erratically before accelerating out of view. In another case, sightings near F.E. Warren Air Force Base have described unusual lights and aerial maneuvers, drawing attention due to the area’s military presence.

More recent reports included in national databases describe hovering lights, sudden directional changes, and objects traveling at speeds inconsistent with conventional aircraft. None of the sightings have been confirmed as extraterrestrial.

Researchers point to Wyoming’s dark-sky conditions, minimal urban lighting, and open terrain as key factors contributing to its elevated reporting rate.

Nationwide, the average chance of reporting a UFO sighting is estimated at about 1 in 1,700, placing Wyoming above average.

Sightings are most frequently reported during nighttime hours, particularly by drivers, rural residents, and night-shift workers observing open skies.

Wyoming’s ranking reinforces its position as a consistently active UFO reporting state in the United States, according to the latest annual data.
