Jackson, WY – Travelers along the Wyoming–Idaho border should prepare for periods of mountain snow and rapidly changing road conditions through Thanksgiving week, especially on Teton Pass and the high elevations of western Wyoming, according to new forecast maps from the Weather Prediction Center.

According to the WPC, moisture pushing into the central Rockies will bring snow showers to the Tetons and surrounding ranges beginning Wednesday, affecting Jackson, Wilson, Driggs, Victor, Alpine, and Star Valley. Snow may accumulate quickly at elevations above 6,000 feet, with travel over Teton Pass (WY-22) potentially becoming slick or snow-covered during the day. Lighter snow or mixed precipitation may reach lower valleys.

Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 27, 2025) is expected to remain wintry across the border region. With colder air locked in behind the midweek disturbance, scattered snow showers will continue across mountain areas, including Grand Teton National Park and the Teton Range. Travelers heading into Yellowstone’s South Entrance or over Togwotee Pass could encounter blowing snow and reduced visibility. Valley towns such as Jackson, Driggs, and Victor may see intermittent flurries or light snow.

By Black Friday (November 28, 2025), another disturbance may reinforce snow chances in the Tetons and western Wyoming mountains. Early shoppers and holiday travelers should be prepared for icy roads, gusty winds, and pockets of heavier snow along mountain passes. Lower elevations may stay cold with occasional flurries.

Drivers using Teton Pass, US-26, US-89, or the Snake River Canyon should allow extra time and monitor updated advisories as mountain snow continues through the holiday period.
