Rawlins, WY – A 13-year-old girl, reported missing from South Dakota, was rescued Sunday morning following a high-speed pursuit near Rawlins. A Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) trooper spotted the suspect’s vehicle Tuesday morning and initiated the chase. The suspect initially stopped, then fled the scene with the juvenile still inside.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the trooper pursued the vehicle and performed a tactical vehicle intervention, successfully disabling the suspect’s car. The juvenile was safely recovered, and the driver was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, reckless driving, and evading law enforcement. Police confirmed he also had outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
Authorities credited cooperation from the Rawlins Police Department and BLM Rangers for the safe resolution. The missing girl has been returned to safety, and the investigation continues. The quick actions of the WHP officer were instrumental in bringing the situation to a safe conclusion.
