Cheyenne, Wyo. – Drivers across Laramie County, including Cheyenne and the I-80 Summit, are facing dangerous travel conditions as dense fog blankets the region through 8 a.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect for the county’s foothills and summit areas, with visibility dropping to one-quarter mile or less. The advisory warns motorists to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and increase following distance on major corridors, especially I-80.

Roads around Cheyenne, Laramie, and the surrounding foothills are experiencing visibility so poor that officials urge commuters to delay travel if possible. The I-80 Summit, a frequent trouble spot for weather-related issues, is particularly impacted. Slower travel and increased braking distances are critical for safety during this event.

Residents should allow extra time for morning commutes and be cautious at intersections or exits where cross traffic may be obscured by fog. Similar fog events have led to multi-vehicle crashes in the past, particularly near the I-80 and I-25 corridors.

The advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Monday. Further updates may be issued if low visibility continues into the afternoon hours.
