Laramie, Wyo. – A wildfire has shut down WY130 in both directions between Saratoga and Laramie, causing significant travel disruptions Friday afternoon.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the fire has forced a full closure at milepost 54, including the eastbound gate between WY230 and Mile Marker 48. No estimated reopening time has been given, and drivers are warned not to park on the roadway, as it interferes with emergency response efforts.
The impacted stretch is a key connector across southern Wyoming, especially for residents and travelers between Carbon and Albany counties. Travelers heading to or from Laramie, Saratoga, or Encampment should detour via I-80 or consult local routes.
Motorists are urged to use the Wyoming511 app or visit www.wyoroad.info for real-time updates. Authorities stress that parked vehicles may hinder firefighting efforts and delay reopening.
This closure remains in place until further notice. Drivers should expect heavy smoke in the area and changing conditions as crews work to contain the fire.
