Cheyenne, Wyoming – Communities along the Wyoming–Colorado border are expected to see a noticeable warmup late next week as above-normal temperatures spread across the High Plains and Front Range corridor.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the WY–CO border region is favored to run warmer than average from Saturday through the following Friday as Arctic air remains displaced well to the north. High pressure building over the central Rockies will help suppress storm activity and promote milder daytime conditions.

In southeast Wyoming, including Cheyenne and Laramie, afternoon highs are expected to climb into the upper 30s and 40s, several degrees above late-January norms. Overnight lows will still drop below freezing, but extreme cold is not anticipated. Gusty winds may develop at times, especially along Interstate 80, which could create localized wind chill concerns despite the warming trend.

Across northern Colorado, including Fort Collins and the northern Front Range, similar warmth is expected with highs reaching the 40s and low 50s on milder days. Snow cover in shaded areas may slowly melt during the afternoon, with refreezing possible overnight.

With no significant winter storms expected, the warmer pattern appears steady through the end of the month. Drivers should remain alert for early morning icy patches, but overall conditions favor quieter winter weather and improved travel along the Wyoming–Colorado border.
