Lake Geneva, WI – Drivers in downtown Lake Geneva should expect detours this weekend as the city closes a portion of Wrigley Drive for Oktoberfest preparations.

According to the City of Lake Geneva Police Department, Wrigley Drive from Broad Street to Center Street closed at 5:00 a.m. today and will remain blocked through the weekend while crews and vendors set up for the annual fall event.

Officials are urging motorists to use caution and plan alternate routes, particularly near Flatiron Park, where setup activity is underway. The closure affects one of the city’s most traveled lakefront corridors, often used by locals and visitors heading toward downtown shops and attractions.

The department thanked residents for their patience and cooperation as the city prepares for a “safe and fun Oktoberfest weekend.”

Oktoberfest in Lake Geneva traditionally features food vendors, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities throughout the downtown area. Visitors are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
