Parkersburg, WV – The Wood County Resiliency Center and The Salvation Army of Parkersburg are teaming up for a Thanksgiving Food Drive to support local families in need. Donations will be accepted Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12–13, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Resiliency Center’s High Bay, located at 328 2nd Street in Parkersburg.

According to organizers, shelf-stable food only will be accepted — no expired items. Suggested donations include cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, canned yams, gravy, cornbread, stuffing, and similar nonperishables.

Collected items will be assembled into Thanksgiving meal boxes for distribution next week. The giveaway will take place Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the same location on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out.

The event is a joint effort between The Salvation Army of Parkersburg, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, and Center on Market, aiming to ensure every family in the community can enjoy a holiday meal this season.

Residents are encouraged to donate early, as local organizers expect strong turnout and demand this year.
