Green Bay, WI – Drivers across northeast Wisconsin are being urged to use caution early Friday morning as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 a.m. CST, bringing light snow and slippery road conditions to the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, an additional up to one inch of snow is expected before the advisory expires, combined with wind gusts up to 35 mph, which may lead to patchy blowing snow and reduced traction on untreated roads.

The advisory covers a wide area, including Brown, Calumet, Manitowoc, Kewaunee, Door, Forest, Florence, Vilas, Marinette, and Oconto counties. Impacted communities include Green Bay, Manitowoc, Two Rivers, Sturgeon Bay, Crandon, Eagle River, Oconto, Luxemburg, Chilton, and New Holstein.

While snowfall totals are relatively modest, officials stress that slick spots remain possible, especially on bridges, overpasses, secondary roads, and less-traveled rural routes. Early-morning commuters may encounter snow-covered or icy stretches as temperatures remain cold.

Winds gusting to around 35 mph could also cause brief reductions in visibility in open areas, particularly in Door County and northern portions of the region.

Motorists are advised to slow down, increase following distance, and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Road conditions can change quickly during the early morning hours.
