Madison, WI – A winter weather advisory is in effect for much of Wisconsin from Friday afternoon through early Saturday, with snow accumulations expected to impact travel statewide.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), snowfall will begin around 2 p.m. Friday in west-central Wisconsin, spreading eastward through the evening. Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, and surrounding areas are forecast to receive between 2 and 7 inches, with the heaviest snowfall in central and northeast Wisconsin.

Road conditions are expected to become hazardous, particularly during the Friday evening commute. Reduced visibility and slick roads could cause travel delays. Areas including Marathon, Portage, and Waushara counties could see up to 7 inches of snow, while southeastern cities like Milwaukee and Kenosha are forecast to receive between 2 and 4 inches.

Drivers are urged to use caution, allow extra travel time, and check 511wi.gov for updated road conditions. Snowfall is expected to taper off by early Saturday, though additional snow showers remain possible in some areas.
