Wausau, WI – A late-season winter storm is set to bring snow and icy conditions across north-central and northeastern Wisconsin starting early Sunday, with impacts expected through the Monday morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 4 a.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday for several counties including Lincoln, Oneida, Vilas, Marathon, Shawano, Oconto, and Door. Snowfall totals will vary by region, with up to 6 inches expected in parts of Vilas County and around 2 to 5 inches forecast in the Wausau area. Winds could gust up to 35 mph in Marathon County, reducing visibility at times.

Road conditions are expected to become slippery due to a combination of snow and a light glaze of ice, especially during the Sunday evening and Monday morning hours. Commuters are urged to plan for delays and exercise extra caution.

In Door and Oconto Counties, snow is expected to begin mid-morning Sunday with heavier accumulation north of Sturgeon Bay and Oconto Falls.

Travelers are encouraged to check Wisconsin 511 for real-time road updates. Preparedness measures include reducing speed, allowing extra travel time, and ensuring vehicles are winter-ready.
