Milwaukee, WI – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for southeastern Wisconsin through early Thursday morning, with icy conditions lingering into the morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service, freezing drizzle and light snow overnight have created slick roadways, especially on untreated surfaces. Drivers should exercise caution and allow extra time for travel. Winds will increase Thursday afternoon, with gusts up to 45 mph possible.
Looking ahead, Friday will bring partly sunny skies with highs near 28°F, but the weekend will see a return of snow. A strong system is expected Saturday, bringing heavy snow and gusty winds. Accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are likely, with some areas seeing higher totals. Snowfall will taper off Saturday night, but roads could remain hazardous into Sunday.
Temperatures will stay below freezing through early next week, with highs in the low to mid-20s. Another round of snow may develop by midweek.
Residents should prepare for changing conditions and check for updates. Plan for slower travel, and stay tuned for further alerts.
