Green Bay, WI – Eastern Wisconsin is set to experience its first snowfall of the season late tonight into Thursday morning, with winter weather advisories issued across multiple counties.
According to the National Weather Service, areas including Door, Southern Marinette, and Southern Oconto counties can expect up to 2 inches of wet snow beginning at 2 a.m. Thursday. The snow is forecasted to mix with rain after 6 a.m., with winds gusting up to 35 mph. Untreated roads could become slippery and slushy, impacting the Thursday morning commute.
Further south, counties such as Brown, Manitowoc, and Outagamie are under advisory from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m., with snow totals of 2 to 3 inches and wind gusts as high as 45 mph. The Milwaukee and Madison areas, including Dodge, Waukesha, and Kenosha counties, may see heavier accumulations of up to 4 inches between 6 a.m. and noon Thursday. Reduced visibility and slick roads are likely in these areas.
