Green Bay, WI — A late-season winter storm is set to blanket northern Wisconsin with heavy snowfall beginning Sunday morning, prompting a Winter Storm Warning for multiple counties across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the warning is in effect from 7 a.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday for Forest, Florence, Langlade, Menominee, and Northern Oconto Counties. A separate warning begins at 10 a.m. for Northern and Southern Marinette Counties. Snow is expected to fall heavily Sunday afternoon, with total accumulations between 4 and 8 inches depending on location.

Travel could become treacherous, especially during Sunday night and the Monday morning commute. Authorities warn of reduced visibility, slick roads, and the potential for isolated power outages due to minor tree limb damage.

Cities such as Crandon, Antigo, Peshtigo, and Crivitz are expected to experience the storm’s peak intensity during the late afternoon and evening hours. Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and to keep emergency supplies, including food, water, and flashlights, in their vehicles.

For real-time road conditions, WisDOT advises calling 511 or visiting the state’s travel information website.
