Green Bay, WI – A winter storm is set to impact northeast Wisconsin late Sunday into Monday morning, bringing heavy snow and freezing rain. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the region.
According to the NWS, snowfall will begin overnight, with the heaviest accumulation expected from Merrill to Sturgeon Bay. Snowfall totals could reach 2 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Rain and freezing drizzle may mix in, particularly south of Highway 29.
Travel conditions will deteriorate as untreated roads become slick and snow-covered. Reduced visibility will also make driving hazardous. The Monday morning commute will be challenging, especially in areas receiving the most snow.
Meteorologists advise residents to prepare for delays and use caution on the roads. Snow is expected to taper off by midday Monday, but lingering icy conditions may persist.
