Green Bay, Wis. – Thunderstorms could slow traffic on Highway 41 and dampen midweek plans in Green Bay starting Wednesday afternoon, capping off a stretch of calm, warm spring weather.

According to the National Weather Service, a 20 percent chance of storms begins after 1 p.m. Wednesday, increasing to 50 percent on Thursday. Highs will hover in the mid-70s early in the week before humidity and cloud cover move in midweek. Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility on Wednesday and Thursday, especially during peak travel hours.

Monday kicks off with sunny skies and a high near 79°F. Light southeast winds will keep conditions pleasant. Tuesday remains mostly sunny with a high around 76°F, but winds may gust up to 20 mph.

Clouds build Tuesday night, with rain chances rising sharply Wednesday afternoon. Winds remain light, but wet pavement could increase braking distances along major roadways, including I-41 and WI-29.

Thunderstorms remain likely Thursday, with a 50 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m. and overnight lows around 60°F. Friday brings a small reprieve with a 20 percent chance of lingering showers and highs in the low 70s.

Looking ahead, Saturday appears calmer and drier, with partly sunny skies and a high near 65°F — a welcome end to an unsettled week.

More alerts may be issued as storm timing and intensity become clearer. Stay weather-aware and check for updates before commuting midweek.
