Milwaukee, Wisconsin – A fast-moving cold front is pushing through southeast Wisconsin this afternoon, bringing a window for strong storms between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday. Residents from Milwaukee to Kenosha and Lake Geneva could see gusty winds up to 45 mph, brief heavy rain, and frequent lightning as the front moves in from the northwest.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the cold front. The greatest risk area lies across southeastern counties where storm development is most likely late this afternoon through early evening.

Motorists should watch for sudden downpours and reduced visibility on I-94 and I-43 during the evening commute. Outdoor events or construction sites may need to pause activity due to lightning risk and gusty crosswinds.

Residents are urged to monitor weather alerts and have a shelter plan ready in case storms intensify quickly. Conditions are expected to improve later tonight as cooler, drier air moves in behind the front.

Warnings remain in effect through early evening across southeast Wisconsin.
