Milwaukee, Wisconsin – A dramatic shift in weather is set to bring a significant chill to the state, with temperatures in southeastern Wisconsin poised to drop by more than 20 degrees through the weekend. The abrupt change follows a warm Friday, with cooler air sweeping in and making its presence felt throughout the state.

According to the National Weather Service, a hazardous weather outlook is in effect for portions of east central, south central, and southeast Wisconsin. While today will remain mostly cloudy with a high near 69 degrees, the real change begins Sunday when temperatures are only expected to reach into the low 70s. The cold air mass will linger, keeping temperatures below normal across the region.

The National Weather Service also notes that the chance for widespread showers and storms will return by midweek, lasting through Thursday. This system could bring a new round of rain to areas that have been dry. Meanwhile, the cooler air will impact daily life, so residents should be prepared for a noticeable temperature drop.

The cooler conditions are expected to persist well into next week, with the possibility of temperatures staying below normal for an extended period. The National Weather Service continues to monitor the situation and may issue further advisories as the weather pattern develops.
