Green Bay, Wis. – Cool, unsettled conditions will persist across northeastern Wisconsin through the end of the week before temperatures rebound closer to normal this weekend. Periods of light rain will continue into Thursday, and a brief rain-snow mix could develop overnight across the northern counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, rain chances remain highest from Vilas and Forest counties east toward Florence late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Temperatures will hover in the low to mid-40s during the day and drop into the 30s overnight, cold enough for some wet snowflakes north of Highway 8. Meanwhile, the Fox Valley and Lakeshore will stay mostly rain with breezy east winds.

By Friday morning, clearing skies and lighter winds may allow patchy frost to form in low-lying areas from Appleton to Oshkosh. Drivers should be prepared for slick spots in rural valleys and reduced visibility where fog develops. The agency urges residents to protect late-season plants and to allow extra time for the Thursday morning commute in the north.

Warmer and sunnier weather is expected this weekend, with highs returning to the lower 50s Saturday and mid-50s Sunday under partly sunny skies.
