MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Southeast Wisconsin will transition from sunshine to stormy skies as a strong system rolls through this weekend, bringing rain, gusty winds, and a noticeable cooldown. Residents and travelers along I-94 and I-43 should prepare for wet conditions late Friday through Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Milwaukee expects Thursday and Friday to remain mild and partly sunny, with highs in the low 70s—ideal for outdoor plans or final fall yardwork. However, moisture building from the southwest will fuel showers and possible thunderstorms by Friday night.

Rain will intensify early Saturday, with multiple rounds of showers and isolated storms continuing into the afternoon. Winds could gust near 25 mph, making driving more difficult for high-profile vehicles, especially along the Lake Michigan shoreline. While severe weather isn’t expected, heavy rain may cause ponding on roads and brief visibility issues during downpours.

By Sunday, rain chances remain high early in the day before breezy northwest winds usher in drier, cooler air. Highs will drop into the upper 50s, signaling the return of crisp fall weather.

Monday will bring plenty of sunshine and calmer winds, offering a refreshing start to the new week. Highs will hover near 60°F—perfect for outdoor errands, leaf viewing, or late-season park visits before the next system midweek.
