Green Bay, WI – A bitterly cold night will continue across northeast Wisconsin, followed by a brief warm-up and then a potentially messy wintry system midweek, according to forecasters.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, dangerous wind chills between -10 and -15 degrees will persist through tonight. Actual temperatures are expected to fall into the single digits to near zero, especially before cloud cover increases later tonight.
There is also a 40–60% chance of light snow developing after midnight across far northeast Wisconsin, including areas closer to the Upper Michigan border. Snow amounts are expected to be light, but even minor accumulation could create slick spots by Monday morning.
Conditions improve gradually on Monday, as a weak clipper system brings clouds and possibly light snow to far northern areas early, followed by a warming trend. Highs Monday are expected to reach the upper teens to mid-20s, climbing further on Tuesday, when temperatures rise into the mid-30s.
By Wednesday, much of the region turns milder, with highs ranging from the upper 20s to mid-30s. However, forecasters are watching a stronger system expected to arrive Wednesday night, which could bring a messy wintry mix, potentially including snow, rain, or freezing precipitation depending on temperatures.
Residents are urged to take cold weather precautions tonight, including dressing in layers, limiting time outdoors, and bringing pets indoors. Drivers should remain alert for slick roads, especially late tonight and early Monday.
