Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Strong thunderstorms and gusty winds could disrupt travel and outdoor plans across Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin by Monday afternoon, with storms lingering into early Tuesday. Wind gusts could reach up to 35 mph, making driving hazardous, especially on open roads and bridges.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop before 10 a.m. Monday, increasing later in the day as temperatures climb near 72 degrees. Winds from the south will strengthen, with speeds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 35 mph by late afternoon. Heavier rain and thunderstorms are expected Monday night, with a chance of new rainfall amounts topping a tenth of an inch.
Cities like Wauwatosa, Oak Creek, and Glendale should prepare for slick roads, scattered power outages, and reduced visibility during heavy downpours. Those commuting Monday evening or early Tuesday should plan extra travel time and secure any outdoor items like patio furniture or lawn decorations ahead of the storms.
By Tuesday morning, conditions will calm slightly, but a chance of isolated showers will persist. Winds will shift to the east and gradually weaken. Additional weather updates or advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
