Wisconsin wakes to a biting wind sweeping across the bay, carrying loose powder and lifting it into swirling ribbons along rural roads. Streetlights glow through thin flakes, and the cold presses sharply against exposed skin—an early sign that winter plans to tighten its grip on Green Bay. Anyone beginning post-Thanksgiving travel should brace for shifting and sometimes harsh conditions through the weekend.

Meteorologists are now tracking a Saturday system that taps into colder air dropping south from the Upper Peninsula. This setup, paired with lingering lake-effect moisture, increases the chance of heavy snow, especially north and west of the city. Models show a clear snow chance from early Saturday through Saturday night, and travel could slow quickly as visibility drops and winds gust near 20 to 25 mph. Drivers along I-41 and Highway 29 should expect blowing snow, sharp crosswinds, and slick bridges by midday.

To be fair, the exact placement of the heaviest snow bands remains fluid. Still, the early trend favors accumulating snow across Brown, Oconto, and Shawano Counties. A brief possible changeover is not impossible early, but temperatures fall steadily into the low 20s by late afternoon, locking in the frozen side of the storm.

Sunday brings a cold, bright sky with highs near 29°, but the wind stays brisk. Monday turns even colder, with highs near 18° and a sharp chill. Tuesday stays partly sunny and quiet with a high near 20°, and Wednesday recovers slightly into the upper 20s.

Long-range guidance continues to highlight below-normal temperatures December 2–6, signaling that Wisconsin may be entering a longer Winter Tease phase, with additional disturbances likely.
