Green Bay, Wis. – Severe thunderstorms could disrupt parts of Wisconsin this afternoon and evening, with the greatest risk of damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain developing between 3 and 10 p.m. Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) is in effect for much of eastern and central Wisconsin, including Wausau, Oshkosh, and Green Bay. Isolated storms are possible this morning, but the threat increases to 40–60% during peak heating hours this afternoon and into the night. If storms turn severe, wind gusts of 40–60 mph will be the primary concern, along with half-inch hail and downpours that could reduce visibility and pond roads.

Areas within the red-outlined region—including Appleton, Sturgeon Bay, and Fond du Lac—face the highest chance for stronger storms. Motorists should avoid travel during peak storm hours, secure outdoor items, and monitor local alerts. Power outages are possible where winds are strongest.

Storms may linger overnight, but confidence in widespread severe impacts remains moderate. Additional alerts could be issued if storm activity intensifies or shifts.
