Green Bay, WI – A winter storm warning remains in effect for several north-central Wisconsin counties, with light snow continuing through the early morning commute Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the warning covers Langlade, Florence, Forest, Menominee, Northern Oconto, Marinette, Oneida, Vilas, and Lincoln counties until 7 a.m. CDT. An additional 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected to accumulate, potentially creating slick travel conditions.

Residents in cities such as Rhinelander, Antigo, Crandon, Merrill, and Peshtigo are urged to exercise caution during their morning commute, as untreated roads may become hazardous. The snowfall, while tapering off, could still lead to reduced visibility and slower travel times, especially on rural and secondary roads.

Travelers are advised to allow extra time, reduce speeds, and maintain safe distances between vehicles. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation recommends keeping emergency kits with flashlights, food, and water in vehicles.

This late-season storm brings another round of snow to regions already familiar with heavy winter weather. While accumulations are relatively minor, forecasters say even light snow can significantly affect road safety during peak travel hours.

For up-to-date road conditions, drivers should dial 511 or visit the Wisconsin DOT website.
