La Crosse, WI – A winter storm continues to move through Wisconsin, bringing heavy snowfall and dangerous wind chills. Snowfall amounts between 4 to 7 inches are expected in parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin, with a sharp cut-off in accumulation near the Interstate 90 corridor.

According to the National Weather Service La Crosse, snowfall will continue into the evening, impacting morning and evening commutes. Motorists should use caution, slow down, and maintain extra distance between vehicles.

Following the snow, bitterly cold temperatures will settle into the region overnight into Thursday morning. Wind chills ranging from -10°F to -30°F are expected, with the coldest air west of the Mississippi River Valley in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for these areas.

Residents are urged to dress in layers, cover exposed skin, and limit time outdoors, as frostbite can develop in 30 minutes in these conditions. Travelers should check local road conditions before heading out.
