Green Bay, Wis. – Northern and central Wisconsin could see damaging storms between 4 and 11 p.m. Tuesday as a broken line of strong to severe thunderstorms moves through the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, storms will develop in northwest Wisconsin Tuesday afternoon before pushing southeast through the evening. Areas around Rhinelander, Wausau, and Ladysmith face the highest threat, with storms capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts, half-inch hail, and localized flooding.
Communities from Ashland to Wisconsin Rapids are urged to prepare for hazardous conditions during the evening commute. Isolated power outages and tree damage are possible with the most intense cells. Lightning will be a concern across all impacted areas, especially in outdoor or forested regions.
Residents should secure outdoor items, avoid unnecessary travel after 4 p.m., and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. While the storms may weaken as they move south and east, isolated severe activity could persist into the late evening near Green Bay and Appleton.
Storm watches remain in effect until 11 p.m., with additional alerts possible depending on storm evolution.
