Green Bay, Wis. – Scattered showers are dampening parts of north-central and far northeast Wisconsin today, with the chance for strong thunderstorms increasing early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, today’s rain is expected to focus on regions like Wausau, Marinette, and the Door Peninsula, where highs will range from 57 to 75 degrees. Sunday brings on-and-off showers across central and eastern parts of the state, with isolated thunder possible.

Looking ahead, Monday through Wednesday presents the highest risk window for strong storms. While exact timing remains uncertain, meteorologists note that warm, humid conditions could trigger severe thunderstorms—especially in areas south of Highway 29, including Appleton, Oshkosh, and Fond du Lac. Travel plans and outdoor events may be impacted during this period.

Residents should monitor local alerts, especially if commuting or attending weekend festivals. Prepare now by clearing storm drains, securing outdoor furniture, and charging electronic devices.

Temperatures will climb steadily into the mid- to upper-80s by Tuesday, increasing instability. Confidence in storm severity is expected to improve by late Sunday.

More updates are expected as the weather pattern evolves. Stay tuned to NWS Green Bay for alerts through midweek.
