Milwaukee, WI – Thunderstorms are expected to develop Sunday afternoon across southeastern Wisconsin, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding into the evening. The National Weather Service warns rain could be steady at times, especially after 3 p.m., making travel slower on I-94 and other major routes.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday’s storm chance is near 60%, with rain amounts generally between a tenth and a quarter inch, though heavier downpours are possible in thunderstorms. Winds from the south at 10 to 15 mph will bring humid air, pushing afternoon highs into the mid-80s. The highest risk for storms will be between late afternoon and mid-evening, tapering off overnight.

While Monday will see more clouds and additional rain chances, Tuesday may bring a brief, mostly dry stretch before midweek showers return. Those with outdoor plans Sunday should have a backup option and avoid driving through flooded intersections.

Additional weather alerts could be issued if rainfall rates climb or storms become severe.
