Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Warm, summer-like weather will greet Milwaukee residents this Memorial Day weekend, but showers and thunderstorms loom by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will remain mostly sunny with a high near 58°F, and winds becoming calm in the evening. Memorial Day itself looks bright and warm, with highs near 86°F—marking one of the hottest days so far this season across southeastern Wisconsin.

Travelers heading out Monday should enjoy dry roads, including stretches of I-94 through Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. However, by Tuesday evening, conditions may shift. A 20% chance of rain develops after 1 p.m., increasing to 40% by Tuesday night. Thunderstorms are possible, especially in low-lying areas and rural roads where brief ponding could occur.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for changing conditions. “If you have outdoor plans Tuesday evening, monitor alerts and be ready to move indoors,” NWS officials advised.

By Wednesday, showers may linger into the afternoon, with temperatures dipping to the high 50s—marking a noticeable cooldown from the holiday heat. Patchy rain continues into Thursday and Friday, with daily highs remaining in the mid to upper 60s.
