Ironwood, Wisconsin – Easter Sunday travel across far northern Wisconsin could become slick at times as periods of snow and mixed precipitation develop, especially near the Lake Superior shoreline and higher terrain.

According to the National Weather Service, this 6-to-10 day outlook favors above-normal precipitation across the Great Lakes, with colder air holding in place across northern Wisconsin and supporting snow or rain-to-snow transitions during overnight hours.

Communities including Ironwood, Ashland, Hurley, and Bayfield may see light snowfall at times, particularly before sunrise Sunday and again during early morning periods through midweek. Roads such as U.S. Highway 2 and Highway 13 could become slushy or briefly snow-covered, especially on untreated surfaces.

Farther inland toward Rhinelander and Eagle River, precipitation may fall as a mix of rain and wet snow, with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-30s overnight. Slushy accumulation is possible on bridges, overpasses, and less-traveled roads.

Daytime temperatures will trend near normal, allowing for partial melting but keeping conditions damp and messy for outdoor Easter plans, including egg hunts and travel between communities.

Snow and mixed precipitation chances persist through April 9, and additional advisories may be issued as confidence increases in timing and localized impacts.
