Green Bay, WI –
Wisconsin residents should brace for a blustery Sunday as a strong cold front sweeps across the state, bringing gusty winds and much cooler conditions for the week ahead.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, southerly winds will increase this afternoon with widespread gusts reaching 30 to 35 mph. The stronger winds could contribute to elevated fire danger and hazardous conditions on Lake Michigan.
Rain is expected to move in from the northwest late Sunday afternoon and continue into Monday, as temperatures take a sharp drop. Highs on Sunday will be near 80°F in Green Bay, but by Monday, readings will only reach the low to mid-60s statewide.
By midweek, temperatures are forecast to stabilize in the 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s across much of the region. While rain chances taper off after Monday, breezy conditions are expected to persist through midweek.
Residents and boaters are urged to use caution and secure loose outdoor items. Those planning travel or outdoor activities Sunday evening should also be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
