Sauk County, WI – A dense, freezing fog has formed across the Wisconsin River and Baraboo River Valleys in northern Sauk County, creating hazardous travel conditions early this morning. The National Weather Service issued a warning, advising drivers to remain cautious until at least 9 AM.

The fog is expected to cause sudden drops in visibility and slick road conditions, primarily along I-90/94 and I-39, as well as Highway 12 and 33. This fog is particularly dangerous in areas such as Baraboo, Reedsburg, and Lodi.
According to the National Weather Service, conditions will likely improve by 9 AM as the fog burns off. However, travelers in northern Sauk and nearby Columbia Counties should be prepared for potential delays or accidents due to the sudden changes in visibility and slick roads.

Motorists are urged to drive with extra caution, reduce speed, and use low-beam headlights when traveling through these areas.
