The risk peaks Wednesday afternoon and early evening as scattered severe thunderstorms threaten the region from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The primary hazards are damaging wind gusts, large hail, and the possibility of an isolated tornado.
Communities including Tomah, Black River Falls, and Winona, MN, may experience brief power outages, downed trees, and hazardous driving as storms move eastward. The highest risk zone stretches from southeast Minnesota into western and central Wisconsin.
