Green Bay, Wisconsin – A burst of spring chill will grip northeast and north-central Wisconsin by Thursday morning, with frost expected in several counties and fire danger building into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, temperatures are forecast to dip into the mid-30s by early Thursday, especially across rural and low-lying areas from Shawano to Florence County. Portions of Highway 29 near Wausau and Green Bay could see patchy frost before dawn. Sensitive vegetation should be protected, and residents are urged to delay planting until after Thursday night.
Humidity will plummet from Thursday through Saturday, and with dry air and light winds, the NWS warns that fire conditions may intensify — particularly by Sunday into early next week. While no red flag warnings are currently in effect, fire officials ask residents to avoid outdoor burning and to report any fire activity immediately.
Daytime highs will climb steadily into the 70s by Friday, with calm winds returning to most of the state. Sunshine dominates the extended outlook, but overnight lows remain chilly through at least Saturday.
