Wisconsin – The crisp air over Green Bay bites a little harder this morning as temperatures hover near 15°F and winds sweep in from the west. By late Friday, another push of Arctic air and scattered snow showers will remind residents that December’s deep freeze is settling in for the long haul.
Meteorologists say a clipper system will brush northern Wisconsin Friday, bringing a 50% chance of light snow, mainly during the afternoon and early evening. Any accumulation will stay light—less than half an inch—but roads may turn slick as temperatures quickly fall back into the single digits Friday night.
Saturday will bring sunshine but brutal cold, with highs struggling near 3°F and wind chills dipping below -10°F through the morning. “Even short trips outdoors will require full winter gear,” forecasters cautioned. The bitter pattern continues into Sunday, though skies will clear under bright, frigid sun.
Anyone traveling along I-41 or U.S. 29 should plan for gusty winds and drifting powder, especially near open fields. Keep extra layers and an emergency kit in your vehicle as temperatures remain well below seasonal averages.
