Green Bay, WI – Repeated rounds of rain and thunderstorms are set to impact Wisconsin starting late Monday, with heavy rainfall and rising river levels creating a growing flood concern through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the most active period will develop Monday afternoon into early Tuesday morning, when strong to severe storms are most likely. Rainfall totals between 1 and 3 inches are expected through Wednesday afternoon, with locally higher amounts possible in stronger storms.

Communities across northeast Wisconsin, including Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, and Marinette, could see periods of heavy rain leading to water-covered roads and reduced visibility, especially along I-41 and Highway 29. Rivers, including the Menominee River, are expected to rise due to both rainfall and ongoing snowmelt from northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

Flooding is most likely in low-lying and poor drainage areas, but river flooding could also become a concern if rainfall totals increase. Additional rounds of storms are expected Tuesday afternoon and again into Wednesday, prolonging the threat.

Residents are urged to monitor river levels, avoid flooded roadways, and stay alert for warnings. The unsettled pattern will continue through midweek, with further advisories likely as conditions evolve.
