Neillsville, WI – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect early Wednesday for Clark and Taylor Counties, where a second round of snow and freezing drizzle is moving through the area, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse.

The system began overnight along the I-94 corridor in central Wisconsin and is expected to bring up to one additional inch of snow before tapering off around 6 a.m. CST. Before the snow arrived, areas of patchy freezing drizzle created a light glaze of ice on untreated roads and sidewalks.

The weather service warns that northwest winds will increase behind the snow band, potentially reducing visibility and worsening travel conditions during the early morning commute. Motorists are urged to use caution on bridges and untreated surfaces, as slick spots may persist through sunrise.

Drivers should keep a flashlight, food, and water in their vehicles in case of emergency, and check 511wi.gov for real-time road condition updates before traveling.
