Black River Falls, WI – A 19-year-old Black River Falls woman died this morning following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Franklin Township, according to local authorities.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at approximately 6:26 a.m. Wednesday on County Road C. Deputies responding to the scene discovered that the vehicle had left the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a driveway, causing it to become airborne before coming to rest.

Authorities said the driver, identified as Aurora Olson, age 19, of Black River Falls, was ejected from the vehicle. Investigators believe Olson had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was airlifted from the scene but was later declared deceased at a medical facility. No other individuals were found in the vehicle.

Witnesses told deputies that the vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve before leaving the roadway. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the Taylor Fire Department, first responders, and Black River Falls Ambulance service assisted at the scene.

County Road C was temporarily closed in both directions while crews worked to clear the crash site and conduct the investigation. Authorities are reminding drivers of the importance of wearing seatbelts and obeying speed limits, especially on rural roads with sharp curves.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash and urges anyone with additional information to contact their department.
