La Crosse, Wisconsin – A new round of summer storms will drench western Wisconsin starting Tuesday afternoon, with La Crosse at risk for flash flooding and road delays along U.S. Highway 14.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and possible thunderstorms will develop after 1 p.m. Tuesday, with heavier downpours expected between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 60%, and strong wind gusts may accompany isolated storms. Tuesday’s high will reach 78°F before conditions cool into the low 60s by nightfall.

Travelers should monitor conditions and avoid driving through flooded roads. Keep phones charged and stay weather-aware, especially in low-lying areas and near creeks. Outdoor events or yard work may need to be rescheduled.

La Crosse County isn’t the only area in the path — rain is expected to continue through Wednesday, with the highest storm chances Wednesday night (80%) and Thursday (80%). Some storms could produce small hail or wind gusts over 25 mph.

These rounds of rain come on the heels of Monday’s storms and are part of a broader summer pattern bringing moisture to the region. While Friday and the weekend offer drier conditions, the atmosphere stays unstable through Thursday night.
