Green Bay, Wis. – A fresh round of summer thunderstorms could drench Green Bay and surrounding counties beginning Friday afternoon, with another severe threat looming Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, heavy rainfall and embedded thunderstorms are expected Friday after 1 p.m., particularly across east-central Wisconsin, including Brown, Outagamie, and Manitowoc counties. Localized flooding is possible, especially along low-lying roads like I-43 and I-41 during the evening commute. Rain totals could exceed two inches in some areas, with the highest threat window from 3 to 9 p.m.

The heaviest storms may track from Waushara County through Calumet and into the Lake Michigan shoreline. Damaging winds and brief downpours are the main hazards. Residents are urged to avoid flooded intersections and to secure outdoor items before storms hit.

Another strong storm system is expected Sunday afternoon through Sunday night, with severe weather once again possible across Green Bay and surrounding communities.

Prepare now: Charge devices, monitor local alerts, and delay non-essential travel when storms intensify. Spotters are encouraged to report rainfall over two inches or flooding directly to the NWS in Green Bay.

More scattered showers and thunderstorms may persist into early next week, with quieter, sunnier weather returning by Tuesday.
