Green Bay, Wis. – Patchy smoke, rising temperatures, and a midweek thunderstorm pattern are lining up to shape Wisconsin’s weather starting Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service and Wisconsin DNR, Sunday, July 13, will bring hazy skies and a high near 84°F to Green Bay, with wildfire smoke from Canada reducing air quality and visibility. Sensitive groups should limit outdoor activity, as PM2.5 levels are expected to remain elevated statewide through Monday afternoon. An Air Quality Advisory remains in effect until 12 p.m. Monday for Brown, Door, Outagamie, Winnebago, and other northeastern counties.

While Sunday remains dry, Monday will be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures reaching 87°F under sunny skies and lingering smoke. A slight chance of thunderstorms develops late Monday. The pattern shifts by Tuesday, with a 30% chance of afternoon storms across central and eastern Wisconsin, including along I-41 and I-43 corridors. Storm chances increase into Wednesday, with higher precipitation odds and possible gusty winds.

Here’s a closer look at the five-day forecast for Green Bay:

  • Sunday (July 13): Patchy smoke, mostly sunny, high 84°F.
  • Monday: Sunny and hot, slight storm chance late, high 87°F.
  • Tuesday: 30% chance of PM storms, high 86°F.
  • Wednesday: 50% chance of showers/storms, partly sunny, high 77°F.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, breezy and cooler, high 73°F.

Smoke concentrations should ease by late Monday, but storm chances increase Tuesday through Wednesday. Residents are urged to monitor local alerts and avoid outdoor activity during poor air quality hours.

More updates are expected by Monday morning as storm risks develop.
