La Crosse, Wisconsin – Heavy rain returns to western Wisconsin Thursday, triggering flood concerns along the Black River and multiple smaller waterways.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, storms may bring 1 to 2 inches of rain Thursday, with a continued flood watch in effect through Monday morning for Galesville and nearby areas. Low-lying sections of County Road W near the Black River could become impassable if river levels rise to 12 feet.

Localized flooding will also affect Turkey River in Iowa and several other rivers in southwest Wisconsin, including the Kickapoo and Yellow Rivers. Motorists should avoid driving through water-covered roads and monitor local alerts, especially near rural bridges and pasturelands.

Expect decreasing clouds and dry weather Friday night, offering some relief before storm chances return Sunday. The next 72 hours will be key for managing river levels and storm runoff. Residents in flood-prone zones should secure outdoor property and stay weather-aware.
